Assembly Update
The state has left the national average behind in egg production.
In response to a question from ISF MLA Nausad Siddiqui, Animal Resources Development Minister Swapan Debnath said in the Assembly.
While the national average in egg production is 3.78 percent, the state average is 18.07 percent.
The total egg production in the state in the financial year 2023/24 is 1623.9 crore, which is fourth in the country (11.37 percent).
The total demand for eggs in the state in this same financial year is 1528 crore.
